Stone Point Capital, a private equity firm working with financial services and related industries, has held the final closing of its tenth private equity fund, Trident X, with $11.5 billion in total commitments. 

Trident X, which beat its original target and limit of $9 billion, is about $2.5 billion larger than Trident IX, a $9 billion fund, which closed in 2022.

The firm said it achieved strong support from its existing investor base, as well as first-time commitments from institutional investors globally. General partner and affiliated entities contributed about $750 million.

Trident X started its investment period in May 2025 and has closed on one investment to date – Ultimus Fund Solutions, a provider of full-service fund administration services.

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP acted as legal counsel for Stone Point in connection with the formation of Trident X.

Stone Point has more than $65 billion of assets under management across its private equity and credit platforms. It mainly operates in North America and Western Europe.
